Some of the elements commonly used to oxidize contaminates in water are air, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide.
REDOX is the process of using a catalyst media to change soluble ferrous cations into insoluble ferric hydroxide which is then filtered out of the water and easily removed by backwashing.
FILTRATION is the process of trapping certain contaminates via a filter or filter media which after reaching its capacity is then cleaned itself or replaced. Filtration has long been used in the removal of iron and it is also very effective. Unfortunately, traditional filters are expensive or require a lot of maintenance.

When your water enters the compact tank’s open air chamber, it is aerated, and the oxidation process begins. The water then goes through layers of media, redox media and filtration media. The iron filter is backwashed and recharged when the water is not in use. During this process the media is cleaned, and the iron is sent down the drain.
